🏢 The Library Infrastructure at Present
The modernized library is equipped according to the contemporary standards. Its total area is 4,295 m2, of which 1,000 m2 on the basement floor are allocated for storing the book collections. The library has more than 1 million storage units: textbooks, teaching aids, scientific literature, fiction and other auxiliary materials. More than 25,000 books are on the open shelves in the reading rooms on the second floor of the library.
The library works with the automated library information system “IRBIS-64+”. Thanks to the system data on new acquisitions: textbooks, periodicals, as well as articles by teachers and researchers are entered. The title of the book, author, year of publication, information about the publisher and other bibliographic information are entered into the system. The system maintains the open access catalog (OPAC) on the library web-site.
The reading rooms are equipped with RFID technology: self-service stations and ID card readers are installed; a number of visitors are counted. These technologies provide quick and convenient access to library resources and automate the work of employees.
🌐 Access to international licensed databases
With the development of the digital environment of science and education, the library plays an important role by providing access to scientific databases. Users can connect to paid resources through license agreements – both within the library and remotely. Access is possible through registration or an IP address of the University, which allows you to search and download scientific materials from anywhere in the world. Library staff conduct training and consultations, teaching users how to effectively search for information in databases and the rules for their use.
