The Seraly Kaniev Scientific Library invites you to the course:
“MODERN TOOLS AND PRACTICES IN SCIENTIFIC PUBLISHING”
Course Objective: To enhance the efficiency and visibility of your research by mastering modern digital tools and best international practices in information management and publishing.
This course is ideal for those who want to:
- Learn to quickly find relevant scientific publications.
- Efficiently organize a personal bibliographic database.
- Increase the international recognition of their work.
- Skillfully select a journal for publication and prepare a manuscript.
- Understand the ethical and effective applications of artificial intelligence in research.
Format and Duration:
- 5 practical modules (10 academic hours in total).
- Sessions will be held in the Conference Hall of the Seraly Kaniev Scientific Library (105B, Aiteke bi Street).
Course Program:
Module 1. Strategies for effective searching in scientific databases and using the university’s licensed resources.
Module 2. Organizing literature with reference managers (Zotero, Mendeley): from saving citations to formatting bibliographies.
Module 3. Managing scientific identity: creating and setting up ORCID, Scopus Author ID, and Google Scholar profiles for accurate publication tracking.
Module 4. Strategy for publishing in international journals: from journal selection and manuscript preparation to interaction with the editorial board.
Module 5. Using artificial intelligence in the research cycle: opportunities, limitations, ethics, and publisher policies.
